Cameron “Cam” Newton is the award-winning Quarterback (QB) of the 2015/2016 NFC Champion Carolina Panthers. Cam was honored this past Monday for keeping his winning streak alive – this time off the field.
During the 2016 Sidewalks of New York Awards Dinner hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS NY), Newton received an award for his continued support and work with BBBS. Specifically, Newton was honored for his efforts as a community advocate for the national mentoring program. The Panther’s QB has been active in BBBS for years, once surprising the BBBS Charlotte Chapter with an appearance at a holiday event.
When he received his award at the April 18th gala, Newton took the opportunity to deliver an inspiring speech on the value of mentorship and its significance in achieving goals and success.

“…after the feat of persistence comes the big ‘L’. LOVE. Love the people around you. Absolutely love what you do, and at the end of the day, love you. And as you can tell, I love me some me!” – Cam Newton.
Cam joked about his appreciation and sincere love for himself, yet honed in on the importance of loving ourselves; influencing the young boys and girls who were present to hear his motivational speech. Kudos to Cam for believing in the power of self-love!
Newton’s involvement with BBBS is not his only foray into charity. Cam founded the Cam Newton Foundation in 2012, an organization dedicated to working with the Atlanta and Charlotte communities in order to improve community service, children’s education, and physical fitness and health.

Salute to the NFC Champ for a job well-done! He is indeed the Biggest Brother EVER!
